Playing with Capital: Screening, Discussion and Book Launch
4th Oct 2016
Playtime by critically-acclaimed artist and filmmaker Isaac Julien explores the impact of late capitalism through a number of individual stories in different parts of the globe. The work was developed over a number of years and inspired by a series of dialogues with Professor Stuart Hall.
This event - a screening followed by a discussion at the University of the Arts London - brought together artists, writers and academics to discuss the intersection between art, money and globalisation and their impact on all our lives. It was followed by the launch of the book Playtime/Kapital.
