An evening with Ingrid Pollard – an event celebrating a new Stuart Hall Visiting Associate Fellowship at the University of Sussex

05 Sep 2018

We are delighted to collaborate with the School of Media, Film and Music at the University of Sussex to launch a new Stuart Hall Visiting Associate Fellowship. The Fellowship is a funded opportunity for an artist, activist or researcher to be in residence at the University of Sussex for a period of two weeks.

We are excited to announce that the inaugural Fellow is the media artist, photographer and researcher Ingrid Pollard. During her Fellowship, Ingrid will further her ongoing project The Valentines Days which was part of the exhibition Making Jamaica at Autograph ABP in London. The work explores how a new image of Jamaica was created through photography in the 19th century.

To celebrate the launch of this initiative, Ingrid Pollard will be in conversation with artist, Lubaina Himid, and historian, Catherine Hall, on Tue 6th Nov at 8.00pm at the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts in Brighton.
